dear soul,
i’ve been to london just recently. the way i approach my life and want to live it changed a lot about my travels. for me, traveling became more like a testimony of how well implemented my routines and rituals are in my day to day (or aren’t). so the success of my city trip or vacation is measured in how easy it is to feel like myself wherever i go.
what i am looking for in a city is great design/art, good matcha, curated vintage and vibes. i want to walk in nature just as much as i prefer my urban privileges.
the first one’s are more like take-away whereas foreign exchange news is also a place to hang out when you don’t want to hang i recommend walking around in hyde park which is just around the corner. if you’re looking for working spots with good matcha i can recommend gail’s stores.
v&a is a classic where’s soho farmhouse is exclusive. even if you’re not a member of soho house a visit to the country side is so worth it. the cotswolds area is straight out of a movie and very pretty. the shed is a farm-to-fork approach restaurant with sustainable dishes and a cosy terrace.
you know i love me some curated vintage - rocket isn’t one of them - but i’m still thinking about this 90s chocolate brown leather coat that reminded me heavyyyy on tom fords gucci era. i loved the selection and prices at loop generation. sign of times is on the pricier side for designer vintage, yet still worth a visit!
now that i’ve written it all down i couldn’t help but realise ( so carrie coded) that there is a small line between routine and comfort or even control and that harmony is exactly about playing with the edges of them all. so while choosing my rituals like journaling and meditation and being unapologetic about it, the next time i travel i want to be bolder when it comes to new or unfamiliar experiences. exposure and action is what brings clarity. and i just realised that instead of understanding what i have or have not control over (which creates nothing but duality) what i am actually looking for is said clarity. all i am looking for is more clarity over myself, my loved ones, my hobbies, my business, my music and book taste, my taste.. and traveling or moving to another city/country is about that for me.
love at first clear sight,
lea
